SALARY: $10.00-$10.71/hour (depending on qualifications) |
The New York State Education Department’s School for the Deaf is seeking to fill one Instructor (Substitute) position. Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Providing instruction to students in the absence of the instructor.
- Following emergency plans provided by the instructor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher and a valid NYS teaching certificate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Special consideration will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Expressive and receptive American Sign Language skills.
- Prior successful teaching experience.
- Experience working with children
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Fingerprinting through the Department of Criminal Justice Services and a background check with the Office of Children and Family Services is required for employment. This will be a temporary, hourly position. Instructor substitutes are notified by phone when services are needed. Every effort is made to give 24 hour prior notice.
