EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT 1, SG-14 (PEF)
The Office of P-12 Education’s Bilingual Education Brooklyn Office is seeking applicants for the position of Education Program Assistant 1. Filling of this position is contingent upon Division of the Budget approval. This Office is responsible for development of curriculum aligned to the ELL Curriculum work, including providing support to school districts and other stakeholders. Duties of this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Providing support, requiring communication with various Education Department staff and stakeholders;
- Administrative support for management of contracts and logistics related to payments;
- Conducting review, analysis and research activities as required;
- Assisting in data analysis; and
- Participating in meetings and working with Education Department staff, vendors and consultants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Education Program Assistant 1, Agency Program Aide or Administrative Aide OR be reachable on the eligible list for the Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT), Professional Careers Test (PCT) or Public Management Intern (PMI). Candidates who are a current NYS employee and have standing on the PCT or PMI eligible lists in a title allocated to Grade 9 or higher may be eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. Appointees from the PATT, PCT and PMI lists must serve a two-year traineeship that leads to the Grade 14 salary level. Some transfers may also require completion of a traineeship.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $52,552 based on annual performance advances.
