Office of Governmental Relations
The Office of Governmental Relationsis responsible for facilitating the interaction of the Board of Regents and the Department with the State Legislature, the Governor's Office, the Congress, the federal Administrator, education associations, councils, coalitions, and advocacy groups and their staffs to promote Regents policies, to receive and present information concerning pending issues, and to develop and encourage communication with these groups through participation in committee meetings, conferences, legislative discussions, and other related activities. The Office is also responsible for advancing the State and federal legislative programs of the Board of Regents and the Department, and for framing and communicating the Department's official positions on bills before the State Legislature and Congress.
