New York State of Emergency Due to COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Governor Cuomo extended the directive that all non-essential State employees for New York State’s agencies and public authorities, including the State Education Department, should not report to work. This directive will remain in effect until close of business May 31, 2020.

Individuals in need of assistance are advised not to call the office. All communication should be sent to the Medicaid In Education main mailbox at medined@nysed.gov, or emailed directly to an appropriate staff member. For a listing of staff assignments and relevant contact information, please refer to the unit’s functional directory.
