SSI is  handled differently on Version 4.06e.

If the eligibility file indicates that a student is SSI, and the Update ME screen does not have a "Y" entered in the SSI field indicating that the Consent for Release of Information has been signed by the parents, the SSI override flag will not be present on any claims processed for the student.

If the user verifies that a Consent for Release of Information has been signed, he/she needs to:

  1. Indicate "Y" in the SSI field which is part of the Update ME screen in the Demographics

  2. Call up any claims that are outstanding (not sent to a diskette)

  3. Double click on the calendar for each day claims to reenter the claim.

Any claim submitted without a SSI override will reject in Central New York.

If the claim is sent to Central New York and is rejected, the claim will have to be resubmitted when the consent for release for information is received and the SSI field is set to "Y".

Special Transportation is claimed automatically according to the provider and demographic set up of counties and the demographic setup for districts.  Service codes are set up according to beginning and ending dates to ensure that the user is claiming the correct code for the appropriate period.

If a transportation service is called up for an invalid period in the input services box (an example would be  special transportation for June 1999) the service code box will default to blank.

This is to ensure that the user does not claim a service for a period in which the service is not applicable.

In order to ensure that evaluations are not claimed more than once, transportation must be claimed manually for all evaluations.

The evaluation should be reported on the day the evaluation was  completed (the report date).  If the student is eligible for special transportation, special transportation should be manually claimed for each day the student saw the evaluator.

Both demographic and service data can be imported from another database by using the formats described on pages 25 and 26 of the Handbook.

"Under the Direction of"  for Speech Services is now part of the District and Demographic Setup.

The following reports have been added:

Eligible Students not Claimed lists students that were Medicaid Eligible for which claims were not processedwithin a specified time frame.

Complete History by Service lists all claims for a specified service within a specified time frame.

Complete Targeted Case Management History by Student lists all Target Case Management claims records for a student within a specified time period.

Services not Imported lists the services not imported after loading data from an outside source.
