Alert #05-1

New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)

School/Preschool Supportive Health Services Program (SSHSP/PSHSP)

Medicaid in Education Unit

Issue #05-1

TO:                      All SSHSP/PSHSP Medicaid Providers

FROM:                NYSDOH SSHSP/PSHSP Medicaid in Education Unit

DATE:                 July 21, 2005

SUBJECT: PAPER  REMITTANCE  STATEMENT  &

ELECTRONIC REMITTANCE (MR) INFORMATION

This alert is to inform all SSHSP and PSHSP providers that paper remittance statements will no longer accompany their New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Medicaid checks.

The new eMedNY process requires our SSHSP and PSHSP providers to receive remittance information in either electronic or paper format.  In order for the Central New York Regional Information Center (CNYRIC) to continue producing electronic Medicaid remittance reports, CNYRIC must receive the remittance information electronically from eMedNY.  Therefore, NYSDOH is selecting the electronic remittance format.  SSHSP and PSHSP providers will no longer be receiving paper remittance statements.

Please note that CNYRIC has not received any electronic remittance information since payment cycle 1440 due to technicalities with the eMedNY process at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC).  This missing electronic remittance information needs to be recreated by CSC.  Therefore, when CNYRIC is supplied this missing electronic remittance information, the missing remittance information files (MR) and reports will be posted on their website.

Important:  Once received, the missing remittance information files need to be uploaded onto your local computer in specific order, earliest to latest.  For example,  if you are missing cycles 1440, 1443, 1444, 1448, 1449 and 1453 remittance information, you will need to upload the remittance files in specific order, earliest to latest (e.g., cycle 1440 first, cycle 1443 second, etc.)

For any questions/comments regarding this alert, please contact your Regional Information Center representative or your New York State Department of Health Medicaid in Education representative.
