Medicaid 101 Training Available via WebEx

The State Education Department Medicaid-in-Education Unit is now providing Introduction to SSHSP training (“Medicaid 101”) for new staff and those wishing to refresh their knowledge of the School Supportive Health Services Program.

The “Medicaid 101” is presented in two one-hour sessions via online WebEx.  Part One, SSHSP Fundamentals, includes an overview of NYS Medicaid, SSHSP history, compliance and oversight, and reimbursement methodology and billing requirements.  While appropriate for all SSHSP relevant employees, this training is recommended for district and county administrative staff with claiming process or compliance responsibilities.

Part Two of the "Medicaid 101" is presented separately. That session focuses on SSHSP service types and documentation requirements.  This training is also appropriate for all SSHSP relevant employees, and is recommended for direct service providers, attending supervisors (UDO & USO professionals), and compliance officers.

Each session is approximately 1 hour, and pre-registration is required.  To view the schedule of upcoming WebEx presentations for the SSHSP and to register for an event, please access the Training Calendar that is available on the SED Medicaid in Education website: https://www.oms.nysed.gov/medicaid/training_materials/.

For questions regarding this notice, please contact medined@nysed.gov.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the SSHSP.
