Regents State Budget Proposal #2:
Regional Education Alliances

  • The Regents propose $20 million to ramp up these proven partnerships.

  • These will include the 8 existing Literacy Zones in the Big 5 Cities and add 12 more in high need communities.

  • Of the $20 million, $15 million will be new State funding. $5 million will come from existing federal Adult Education funds, which are available now.
