Excess Teacher Turnover Prevention Grants

0426, 0427 and 0428

0426, 0427 and 0428 are the terms used to differentiate the various Excess Teacher Turnover Prevention Grants that the Rate Setting Unit has administered. The numbers are the first four digits of the Project Numbers of the various grant funds.

0426 was the first Excess Teacher Turnover Prevention Grant fund to come into existence. It began in the 2000/01 school year and continues today. The funds for this grant are for eligible school age programs only. 0426 awards are built into future tuition rates.

0427 was the second Excess Teacher Turnover Prevention Grant fund to come into existence. It began in the 2007/08 school year and continues today. The funds for this grant are for eligible preschool and/or school age programs only, EXCLUDING SEIT programs. 0427 awards are built into future tuition rates.

It should be noted that the 0427 grant had an exception to the rule that two-year award cycles would have the same award amount. Undistributed 0427 awards from the first year of the first cycle (2007/08) were distributed in 2008/09 to those recipients that accepted their 2007/08 awards. Therefore, the 2008/09 awards were slightly greater than the 2007/08 awards.

0428 was the third Excess Teacher Turnover Prevention Grant fund to come into existence. It began in the 2008/09 school year and was originally expected to be for one-year only. However, it was repeated for the 2009/10 school year. Award amounts were the same for both years and the funds for this grant were for eligible preschool and/or school age programs only, EXCLUDING SEIT programs. It is not expected that this grant will available in the future. 0428 awards were NOT built into future tuition rates.
