Submittal of STAC-5s and STAC-5As

 

This process allows counties to send batch STAC-5 files to the STAC Unit via an FTP server and have the files processed electronically rather than sending paper. This method greatly increases the speed of processing as well as the accuracy of the submission. This is how the process works:

4) Once the file has been placed in the inbasket, notify the STAC Unit by emailing OMSSTAC@nysed.gov to let the relevant staff know that the file has been submitted. Once STAC has processed the file, which is usually a one to three day turn-around, you will be notified by e-mail that the file has been placed in the outbasket. The file in the outbasket will have the same name and Zip password as it did when you placed it in the Inbasket. Each record sent to us will be retuned to you, with either a "00" in the EVL-TR-REC-STATUS field (column 75-76) indicating a successful add or something other than "00" indicating an error. 5) In addition to the EVL-TR-REC-STATUS value, several other field values may be different on the file returned to you than what you sent. Click below for a list of these possible changes.
