Issue #24-09

To: All SSHSP Medicaid Providers
From: NYS DOH OHIP SSHSP &
NYSED Medicaid in Education Unit
Date: December 4, 2024
Subject: Update Regarding temporary pause on submitting Medicaid claims

The purpose of this Alert is to provide an update regarding the recent eMedNY issue. While the Department of Health’s fiscal agent, GDIT, is working on implementing a permanent solution they have also taken steps to reprocess SSHSP claims that were mistakenly denied. SSHSP providers may be seeing additional deposits and claim transactions on remittance reports for claims processed since cycle 2460. SSHSP providers should continue to hold their Medicaid claims for physical, occupational and speech therapy to eMedNY until further notice. The Department of Health expects full resolution of the eMedNY issue soon and will issue another Medicaid Alert to let you know when to resume claiming.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this Alert, please contact the NYS Department of Health at (518) 473-2160 or at SSHSP@health.ny.gov, the NYS Education Department, Medicaid Unit at medined@nysed.gov.
